SYRIA MATTER (22 NOVEMBER 2018 - 30 APRIL 2019)

This exhibition brings to life the multifaceted layers of Syria’s architectural and cultural history going as far back as the country’s early pre-Islamic past and explores its many contributions to world history.

 

A TRIBUTE TO SHEIKH SAOUD AL THANI (2 August 2020 – 10 April 2021)

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is paying tribute to HE Sheikh Saoud bin Mohamed bin Ali Al Thani who was so influential in the constitution of collections for Qatar Museums and the state of Qatar in general. One of the first collections Sheikh Saoud began was Islamic Art, at the request of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He amassed pieces with the idea of creating a masterpiece collection, of high quality, unique artefacts that reflected the technical mastery of their craftsmen, as well as having a special story behind them.
